A Winter Haiku
raw angry roughness
desert dry with bleeding cracks
thirsty winter hands

Currently rubbing in:
Bath and Body Works, freshwater cucumber.
I smell like a salad.
Do you Haiku?
(I hope you do!)

I'm embarrassed to ask...
What is Haiku? This is probably why I have dry skin.
Love the title (Silence of the Lambs)
Sorry Suz - I should've explained it better - or explained it period.
Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry that consists of three lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second will have 7, and the third line will have 5 again.
Another example:
furry body close
breathing in his puppy smell
Oliver is home
Choose any subject (though traditional Haiku always had a seasonal theme), three lines, 5,7,5. Go for it!!
Am I just the world's biggest geek?
(crickets chirping)
I love your Haikus, Wendy! I haven't written one since high school English class. I'll have to work on one...
I love it!
I should have paid more attention in High School.
(I totally have no opinion yet with the politics...I just did this to make it work.)
Here's mine:
Here is Huckabee.
Who won over Mitt Romney.
Watch out Obama!
Brilliant!
I am speechless Suz - it's timely, and perfect.
Anyone else?
I'm addicted! Becca helped me.
Dishes and Laundry.
She's typing in her laptop.
Blogs the World Wide Web.
I love it!!!
Go Becca!
I got one! Not that it's exciting or anything but,
Merry Christmas, Me!
sewing on my new machine
making lots of stuff
And I haven't made a thing yet. Maybe I should make it a new year's resolution.
Hooray Elise!
Y'all are officially my favorite people for putting haikus on my blog.
I came on board to look up the gingersnap recipe, and Emma and I loved the challenge. Here's mine:
Winter wind last night
Rattled windows in its force
Yet left peaceful snow
You're a literary genius, Wendy!
Well that's just beautiful - and so true - I thought our roof was going to come off!
Good job Jennifer and Emma!
